MY STUDIO SPACE...it is a rectangle space that goes the whole width of the house.  When we first moved here...my landlord said there was just NO WAY I was going to get all that stuff into this one room...I said "watch me" and a few weeks later he saw the results...he just shook his head...hey, a quilter knows how to make room for the essentials of sewing!  I use a classroom technique...work stations.  This is half of the room space.  My cutting area and storage under table...of course.
This is the closet area...yes, for fabric..and I have pictures of the doors opened...but will hold off on that one for awhile.  One thing about taking photos of our work spaces...really shows what our family sees!!  The closets came in a box that you put together and have done ok for 20+ years.  My book area is on top and of course more storage on top of the closets! You can see a snippet of the iron space and sewing machine is on a table in front of the windows.
This was my HS dresser...and has endured many color changes throughout the years...but still works for storage. The boxes are upholstery boxes...from book samples that I took apart.  A green idea.  My victorian pcs have such fabrics.  Oh..the fan...the big M mode...hot flashes...!
The things I love about this space...is the space... and windows.  On a sunny day it is warm and bright!  The door goes to the outside and I can spread quilt tops on the grass.  Hey, I use every space I can get to work on!!  This summer there was a tent outside the studio door and where I took apart all those upholstery books...the mess was outside!  It is also where working with fabric paints and dyes work the best!

This is the other half of the room.  My hand quilting frame and more upholstery boxes behind the wall hanging...lol
This looks like nothing...but it is my scrapbooking table and space...working on 8 albums now. I usually do this after the Holidays...for a few months...just scrapbooking.  The sewing area is closed during that time.  Really helps to focus on this station and get photos in order...the stuff before digital.  Every quilter has music in their space and the small dressers hold...guess......
scrapbooking stuff.  I did not go wild with that stuff ...just enough to get this big project done!

POPMANOOSUC PROJECTS...

Well...it has been a busy 10 days to get three quilts ready for the Pompy Shop...at 10pm ish Thursday night the projects were done...the shop will be setting quilts with the beautiful hand made furniture...should be very exciting to see.  The 15 Q's before the first major snow storm is on going and many will be MQ by Joanne...she does a great job!!

I will be creating more pages which include...where I work, storage, "now that's a pile of scraps", quilt hutch, craft show 2012...which will take this to the end of the year!  whew!  Keeping a blog helps to keep track of where you are, and where you are going.  I just wish I could erase certain pictures and add new to the same page...but does not look like I can...so the 15Q area may change to show what the pcs look like before and after.  Quilting no matter how it is done...really makes a difference. :)

SECTIONS OF THE LATEST
VICTORIAN LEAVES

THIS QUILT THAT WILL BE AT THE POMPANOOSUC FURNITURE SHOP UNTIL NEW YEARS!!

THIS IS A NINE PATCH WALL HANGING

This is the sun area...it was in the velvet print and decided to extend it beyond that piece.

The centers are stuffed...will put a button in center of each block to help with the anchor process of keeping the layers together and helps to avoid warping from hanging.  I have no idea about the border yet...it will be black velvet but not sure what I will do with it.  The fabrics came from upholstery books I took apart and my leaf fabric stash.

I will post all the quilts going once they get back from being machine quilted.  There may be some lonnnnggg hours with this piece and getting ready for the show but when a chance comes along like this...you give it your best shot! It has been 8 days of work...began Oct 5 with just muslin blocks! I am looking at getting the embellishment done by Tues pm...could be some late hours.

THIS IS THE FINISHED PIECE...10 DAYS WORK!!!
